In the centuries following mankind's settlement of space, interstellar cargo transport is a necessary and lucrative business, but the hazards of space and the functionally lawless colony worlds are a constant threat. When she agrees to take on a mysterious client offering a vast sum of money in exchange for simple passage to Earth, however, this quickly becomes the least of her problems. The crew soon finds themselves caught in a tangled conspiracy of corporate intrigue, piracy, and murder that spans the stars. As they struggle to survive, their beliefs come under fire, and they must choose between obeying the law and keeping a promise.

We read 112 aloud as a family. The kids quickly picked favorite characters, and we were all drawn into the story as each character gave his/her take on the situation. The authors did a good job making the futuristic setting believable. 112 also gave new insight to the issue of slavery. I had never thought about it quite that way before. This was an excellent book. I really enjoyed the characters. The plot was good and had the right mix of Star Wars camaraderie and humor with a more serious topic. Looking forward to the next one.
Wonderful story. Technically speaking, the plot line is flawless, and the characters are very entertaining and have tangible chemistry with one another. The authors did a great job of making the futuristic setting believable. Can't wait until "113" is released! =)

This collaborative novel is seamless and engaging. While it includes plenty of the aspects that are associated with the genre, including gunfights, space travel, and artificial intelligence, it adds another dimension which cues the reader in on the internal thoughts and struggles of the various characters. The end result is a book that delivers even more than what it promises it is both entertaining and thought-provoking.
112 begins with a lean foreword in your seat action sequence. Once I started reading, I couldn't stop! The characters are interesting, the plot thrilling, the dialogue humorous, and the science has been well researched. The idea of a creature who has been grown for the sole purpose of serving the human race, yet looks (almost) and feels and acts human, is a thought provoking concept which is a joy to read. The villain of the book is something like a corporate Moriarty. Smart, cold and remorseless yet cool, charming and suave. The action sequences in the book are exciting and terrifying all at the same time, and you can practically hear the action music play as you read.
All in all I would recommend this book to any adult looking for a good read and its size makes it easy to carry around and pull out whenever you have time. It is also appropriate for children and makes an excellent read-aloud book as well.
I couldn't wait to read it. Then I couldn't put it down! Now I have to wait for Sean & A.J's next book. A good story, it seemed to move right along. Oh nuts! I'm gonna go read it again!
112 is amazingly good for a joint authorship. I loved it- couldn't put it down. I was itching to keep reading and hoping the energy would keep going until the end. It did! The suspense was heart stopping, the characters believable, the plot interesting. We're ready for the next one. Get it on the market soon!!
